Nomad Museum

Next Pop-Up: TBD

Nomad Museum is an ever-changing series of collections curated by LL. The compulsion to collect certain items has always been part of her creative practice, and Nomad Museum became a way to share these collections with others. The first iteration of the Museum featured “All the Things My Dad found in the Dryer” and was installed in Lydia’s studio two weeks before Hurricane Helene flooded the building. The collection and guest book survived the flood, and a nomadic, pop-up style became necessary to continue featuring the work without a studio. Since its origin, Nomad Museum has had three pop-ups, each featuring new and unusual collections alongside original collections that continue to grow daily.

There are multiple new collections in the works, waiting for an adequate number of pieces to be found. These pieces are mostly gathered by the artist from everyday life. All collections are curated by LL, save one: “Pocket Offerings” is a community-supplied collection that grows each time there is a new pop-up. Perhaps you will be the next contributor!

Each visitor to the Nomad Museum receives a handmade linocut ticket, printed from a hand carved stamp and signed by the artist. 385 tickets have been made and distributed to date.
